A fault code doesn’t yet mean the unit or sensor itself is faulty: often it’s the plug and connector leading to it.
Possible causes
- Low oil level
- Heavy load: towing, heat, a long climb
- Engine cooling can’t keep up: radiator, fan, coolant
- Oil temperature sensor
What you can do yourself
- Reduce the load, stop and let the engine cool down.
- Check the oil level with the dipstick.
- Check the coolant and that the radiator fan works.
The explanation comes from the error code reference in the AvtoElektrik PRO app.
