Dashboard warning light

The “Stability control (ESP)” light on the dashboard

Yellow lightInformation

Flashing on a slippery road means the system is working — that’s normal. Steady means it’s off or faulty.

What you can do yourself

  1. Steady — check the ESP off button isn’t pressed.
  2. ABS and ESP often come on together: one cause — a wheel sensor.

Stop and don’t drive on if:

  • The red brake light is on, or the brake pedal feels soft or sinks
  • The steering became very heavy, or the car pulls to one side when braking

The description comes from the AvtoElektrik PRO app.

Oleg’s tip: the colour of the symbol tells you how urgent it is

For example: a red oil pressure or overheating light — stop straight away and switch the engine off. A yellow Check Engine light with the engine running smoothly — drive on and get a diagnosis.
