The “Brake air pressure” light on the dashboard

Air pressure in the brake system is low — the brakes may not work properly.

Tap the light to turn it on or off, just like on the dashboard.

What you can do yourself

  1. Don’t move off. If it comes on while driving, stop smoothly in a safe place and turn on the hazard lights.
  2. Let the engine run until the pressure builds up to normal and the light goes out. If it doesn’t build up, listen for hissing — that’s how you find the leak.
  3. If the pressure drops again or the compressor won’t build it up, don’t drive on: call a mechanic.

The description comes from the AvtoElektrik PRO app.

Oleg’s tip: the colour of the symbol tells you how urgent it is

For example: a red oil pressure or overheating light — stop straight away and switch the engine off. A yellow Check Engine light with the engine running smoothly — drive on and get a diagnosis.
