P2005 — Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open (Bank 2)

Safe to drive

A fault code doesn’t yet mean the unit or sensor itself is faulty: often it’s the plug and connector leading to it.

Possible causes

What you can do yourself

  1. The flap actuator needs checking.
  2. The flaps sit in the intake manifold and change the airflow to suit engine speed. On diesels they often get coated with soot from the EGR — then the manifold is removed and cleaned.
  3. Usually the car drives as before; a diesel may go into limp mode with weak pull.

Bank 1 is the side of the engine with cylinder 1. An inline engine only has bank 1.

The explanation comes from the error code reference in the AvtoElektrik PRO app.
