P0534 — Air Conditioner Refrigerant Charge Loss

OA fault code doesn’t yet mean the unit or sensor itself is faulty: often it’s the plug and connector leading to it.

Possible causes

• Refrigerant leak: pipes, A/C condenser, compressor seals
• Refrigerant pressure sensor

What you can do yourself

1. Don’t use the A/C until the leak is found: without refrigerant the compressor is poorly lubricated and can fail.
2. The leak is found with dye or a leak detector at an A/C service.
