A fault code doesn’t yet mean the unit or sensor itself is faulty: often it’s the plug and connector leading to it.
Possible causes
- Dirty throttle body or idle air control valve
- Air leak
- The idle air control valve sticks
What you can do yourself
- Clean the throttle body. With an electronic throttle, run a relearn (adaptation) after cleaning.
- Listen at idle: a hissing sound means an air leak.
