P0456 — Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (Very Small Leak)

Safe to drive

A fault code doesn’t yet mean the unit or sensor itself is faulty: often it’s the plug and connector leading to it.

Possible causes

What you can do yourself

  1. Check that the fuel cap is closed tightly and its seal is intact.
  2. Usually doesn’t affect how the car drives.

OA case from Oleg’s practice

  • Hyundai Tucson 2022 Check Engine and ABS, fuel smell on start-up; P04567A — very small EVAP leak. The purge valve worked, no major leak. Tip: replace the fuel cap first; if the code comes back — the purge valve. How it went ↗

The explanation comes from the error code reference in the AvtoElektrik PRO app.
