C2022 — Subaru: tire 2 pressure low (tire pressure monitoring)

Don’t put off the repair

For makes: Subaru

A fault code doesn’t yet mean the unit or sensor itself is faulty: often it’s the plug and connector leading to it.

Possible causes

What you can do yourself

  1. Check all tire pressures with a gauge and inflate them to the placard on the driver’s door pillar.
  2. The manual doesn’t say which wheel “tire 2” is, so check the pressure in all four tires.
  3. If the pressure keeps dropping, look for a puncture; don’t drive on a flat tire.

Stop and don’t drive on if:

  • The red brake light is on, or the brake pedal feels soft or sinks
  • The steering became very heavy, or the car pulls to one side when braking

The meaning is from the Subaru Legacy and Outback (2015–2019) service manual. On other makes C2022 may mean something else — send the code to Oleg.
